Bad haircut

  • Jun. 29th, 2009 at 9:01 PM
i hate it
I had the worst haircut experience of my life today.

Not only did she do the exact opposite of what I asked (I asked her to leave the top alone so I could grow it out and cut the back-bottom because it was getting annoying, and instead she left the back-bottom as long as it was before and cut the top and sides and I look riDICulous), but she had this annoying tone of voice and kept talking down to me every time I would tell her I wanted her to do something else. It was so infuriating!

Finally I got tired of trying to re-explain what I wanted and got tired of hearing her tell me "that's not how hair grows" (umm, down?) that I said, "Can you just stop right now? I don't like the way you're speaking to me." And I paid for my haircut and walked away.

So irritated. SOOO irritated. With bad hair.

It was just the cap on a very frustrating day. Jen and I switched cars today so I could get her car inspected, and so I went to the bank to get some cash for the inspection and then realized there was no registration in the glove compartment. So I had to go to the RMV and wait for an hour to get a new copy of the registration, but the copy cost $25 (WTF? It's a piece of paper!) which of course took all of my inspection money... so I had to go /back/ to the bank and get more money and then go get the car inspected. Maddening!

You paid for the haircut!

I did. I thought about not paying on principle, but in the end, walking out without tipping made enough statement for me.

I'm sorry about the haircut...I'm very particular about my hair and I would have not paid her! I've walked out on a haircut once before, the girl was doing such a horrid job at not listening to what i was asking for and just doing her own crappy thing. Grrr.

I shouldn't expect much from a $10 haircut, but since I only wanted the back trimmed, I thought it would be a no-brainer! So annoying!!!!

IF you're up for it, you should call the place and let the manager know. You're probably not the only one who had such an awful experience.

I'm sure you are still lovely, even if you have bad hair.

Please go complain to the manager, as you shouldn't have hadto pay for the haircut.

I'm too scared to go in for a $10 haircut anymore. I'll take Greg there since his hair doesn't matter so much. I go to the $40 haircut salon and get a true artiste to cut my hair. If you say "I don't know what I want, just do your thing, as long as I look good" she can do it and it looks great. You go to Supercuts and they stutter that they can't, and hand you a book to pick out a picture that looks great on the model but looks horrid on you.

I would call the manager... I would probably be too chicken to walk out without paying. I'm kind of like that.

I don't typically get a $10 haircut. I did it because I thought just trimming the bottom would be EASY and I didn't want to pay $40+ to just do a couple of snips.

Boy was I wrong.

Wow- that haircut sounds an AWEFUL LOT like a mullet... I think you need to take a picture and post it... long in back and short on the sides and top? Yikes! We will all still love you no matter what!

It's not quite mulletish because the bottom wasn't THAT long (maybe 1.5 inches?), but I had been growing the top and now it's gone!!

I hope you didn't pay much.
A bad haircut is just such a downer.

$10.

Wish I hadn't gone to the cheapo place. Bleh.

Did you go to Bucci?

Honestly, for me, the best way for me in the Valley was going to Changes with Steven, who rocked my world. It might be worth it to stop in and ask if he can fix it (he and his partner own the establishment, and understand the troubles of a bad haircut, he himself is a perm specialist...). And, if you say that I referred you, you'll get $5 off (he can make ANYONE look better).

Where is Changes?

I'm not up for paying for a "fix" mostly because I have a lot less hair now (grrr) and I don't want to lose any more. And I don't want to pay more money. But I might consider him in the future. :) (I have a hair person that I really like (at Glamourama) but I didn't want to go to her just to trim the back.)

Photos or it didn't happen. :) Seriously, this sucks and it kinda sounds like she might have given you a mullet. I hope that you, or Jen, or another actual hairstylist can help ease the pain. Thinking of you during this time of crisis.
